The Institute of Biology of Ireland have organised two very interesting tours this coming Saturday.
The Institute invites its members, families, friends and general public to a guided tour of approximately 1.5 hours (morning session) of the award winning Birr Castle gardens and grounds, including the Great
Telescope (www.birrcastle.com); and afterwards, in early afternoon for about 1.5 hours, a walking tour (3.3km) of The Sculpture Park Walking Rout of the Lough Boora Discovery Park (www.loughboora.com). Further details and directions on attached.

The Institute of Biology of Ireland in conjunction with UL and the Botanic Gardens are offering a FREE admission Public Symposium on ‘Current and Future Trends in Agricultural Food Production’. It will take place on Nov 22nd at 8pm in The National Botanic Gardens in Dublin. The two keynote speakers from UCD are Prof Mike Gibney and Prof Jimmy Burke. For more info go to www.ibioli.net On the night the IOBI Medal of Excellence will be awarded to the 2012 Leaving Certificate students who achieved highest marks in Biology.

The Institute of Biology of Ireland invites its members, families, friends and general public to join them this Sunday July 19th for a DUAL activity day.

Activity 1: Guided historical tour (1.5 hours) of Glasnevin Cemetery and Museum at 11.30am.
Activity 2: Guided tour (1.5 hours) of National Botanic Gardens, Glasnevin, Dublin 9 at 2.00pm.

You may choose ONE or BOTH activities – the choice is yours. Both tours are family friendly events.
