CanSat National Competition 2016

Confey College wins the CanSat Space Competition National Finals.

The CanSat Ireland National Final took place on 15th April in Birr Castle. Seven teams qualified from 5 regional finals.

  4. Belvedere College, Dublin (CanSat Belvo)

  7. Dunmore Community School, Galway (CanStruction)

Congratulations to all teams and best of luck in the Final.

The Regional Finals took place in Limerick Institute of Technology (4th March), Dublin Institute of Technology (9th March), Galway/Mayo Institute of Technology (11th March), Cork Institute of Technology (12th March) and Athlone Institute of Technology (16th March).

The competition offers students their first practical experience of a real space project by challenging them to build a CanSat or mini rocket – a simulation of a real satellite integrated within the volume of a soft drinks can.
