Safer Internet Day 2016

Safer Internet Day is an EU wide initiative to promote a safer internet for all users, especially young people. It is promoted in Ireland by the PDST Technology in Education and Webwise, and will be celebrated in Ireland on Tuesday 9th February 2016.

Prof Mario Ruivo Prize: Your Ocean, Your Future

The Prof. Mario Ruivo Prize, organised by EurOcean, running from October 1st 2015 to 31st August 2016, calls teams of young people, aged 11-16 years old, across Europe, to imagine an innovative project on the theme: “Your Ocean, Your Future”.

FREE online CPD course from "Bringing STEM to Light: Teaching about Light and Optics". A self-paced 5 week course is designed for both formal and informal educators who want to teach children ages 6-14 about the science of light and optics.

Generation Innovation

Nominations are now open for the annual Generation Innovation Night of Ambition on Wednesday March 2nd (5pm – 8.30pm) at St. George’s Market in Belfast. Schools and colleges are welcome to nominate teenagers who excel in a range of different areas from science and technology, to entrepreneurship and selling, from art and design to engineering and maths.

Space Summer School in Greece 2016

As part of an EU Space Awareness Project there will be a teacher summer course held for primary and secondary teachers in Greece 3rd - 8th July. Teachers can apply for ERASMUS funding to attend. Deadline for applications is Tuesday 2nd February at 12.00 noon.
