ESA/GTTP Teacher Training Workshop 2015

The sixth in a series of training workshops, the ESA/GTTP Teacher Training Workshop will be held at the European Space Research and Technology Centre (ESTEC) in Noordwijk, the Netherlands, 23rd - 27th November 2015. The deadline for receipt of applications is 21st September 2015.

IUCr Crystal growing competition

Following the great success of the IYCr2014 a worldwide competition, is now open to all school children, to introduce students to the exciting, challenging and sometimes frustrating world of growing crystals. Entrants must submit a video. Details on line. Closing date: 22nd November 2015.

SciFest 2015

ISTA is delighted to sponsor SciFest. This has been the most successful year yet with 7200 students entering over 3060 projects. Since SciFest was launched nationwide in 2008 more than 32,200 second-level students have participated in the programme.

Maths & Chemistry Teachers

Nobel prize winner - Thomas Südhof

On Tuesday 1st September at 12noon, the Nobel Laureate Thomas C Südhof will give a talk in The Helix in DCU. It is aimed at secondary school students and teachers and is FREE. An excellent speaker and with compelling thoughts on the areas of physiology and medicine. Advance Booking essential.
