Sligo

Yvonne Higgins will present a session on the revamped ISTA website.  This will include details of the events and news sections along with how members can communicate with other ISTA members via the newly created forum.  As members can now only register online, participants will also be provided with an opportunity to register to the ISTA on the night.  Venue:  Computer Room, Sligo Education Centre, 8-9pm.

Danielle Nicholson from the Regenerative Medicine Institute (REMEDI), NUI Galway, will present details of the institute's educational outreach programme to the Sligo branch of the ISTA on Thursday, 30th September, in Sligo Education Centre, from 7-8pm. This will be followed by a session by Yvonne Higgins on how to register online to the ISTA website. 

This year's Junior Certificate Science Quiz was held by the Sligo branch on Monday, the 3rd May, in the Fr. Flanagan Hall, Summerhill College.  Eighteen teams competed in the quiz which was held in memory of the late Eleanor Concannon.  Mr. Tommy McManus, Chairperson of the Sligo ISTA branch, acted as quizmaster.  Congratulations to each of the winning teams;  1st place;  St. Mary's College, Ballisodare, 2nd Place; Coola Post Primary School, 3rd Place:  Sligo Grammar School.
