All science teachers are invited to participate in a short course to assist you in teaching the module “Exploring Electronics” to Transition Year students. No previous knowledge of electronics is assumed. The training programme is a collaborative effort between CIT, the Cork Electronics Industries Association (CEIA) and UCC. Teachers who complete the programme will receive full certification.

The course will run on the following five Weds evenings from 6.30 – 8.30 p.m. in the Department of Electronic Engineering, CIT: 26 October, 9 November, 16 November, 23 November and 30 November.  Lectures will take place in Room B263 and lab practicals will run in the adjoining laboratories. Each evening begins with a short talk covering the background theory and the rest of the evening is spent on “hand-on” activities. There is plenty of car parking available in CIT.

There is no course fee and participants will receive a full suite of resources for teaching the Exploring Electronics module. We wish to acknowledge the support of TPN funding in running this course.
