BPCI – Science Educator of the Year 2023

Congratulations to Dr. Brian Smyth who received the BPCI Science Educator of the Year 2023. Brian has been a long-standing member of ISTA, holding various positions at both local and national levels. Even though he has retired from the classroom as a Chemistry teacher he is busier than ever as Assistant Honorary Treasurer and a member of the National Conference Committee. He is also involved with the RIA Plaques Committee. A very deserving awardee.

Thanks to the Limerick/ Clare Branch for organising this year’s conference on “Science Education for a Sustainability Future”. A small but mighty team (Diane Condon, Brian Clarke, Maria Sheehan & Marie Walsh) coordinated proceedings over the weekend in TUS Limerick and The Strand Hotel.

Thanks also to all who attended the conference and helped out in any capacity. We are a voluntary organisation and rely on the goodwill of all concerned.
