ChemEd – TU Dublin, Kevin Street

The 38th Chem-Ed Ireland Conference is on Saturday, 19th October from 9.45 am to 4 pm at Technological University Dublin in the Kevin St. Campus (5 minutes walk from St. Stephen’s Green). Registration begins at 9.00 am and tea and coffee will be available. 

This annual event provides an opportunity to share resources and ideas relevant to teaching chemistry and science in secondary schools in Ireland. It features both presentations and workshops on topics that include;

  • effective hands-on microscale chemistry to illustrate reactions (by Bob Worley)
  • safety requirements for laboratory work,
  • contributing to Wikipedia pages on scientists from diverse backgrounds,
  • SciFest science fairs as a route to motivate learners
  • chemistry teaching resources with a focus on the periodic table

The conference fee of €30 includes a hot lunch, tea and coffee and the conference programme.
A reduced rate of 15 euro is available to students and unwaged attendees
