Discontinued Use Of Chemicals
The following update regarding Circular 0014/2011 Discontinued Use of Chemicals was received from the Qualifications, Curriculum and Assessment Policy Unit of the DES:
The process of tendering for the disposal of chemicals in schools as detailed in the circular is in train. It is anticipated that the tender will be published on the eTenders website in September/October and that the disposal of chemicals will be completed by 2012. Please note that funding for the disposal of chemicals by the Department relates only to those chemicals specified in the circular. The costs for the disposal of any chemicals outside of that list must be borne by schools themselves. Schools will be notified as soon as the implementation arrangements are finalised.
