ESERO Ireland, CIT/Blackrock Castle Observatory and the JCT invite you to join us at the Earth & Space Conference for Junior Cycle Science Teachers. It was first run in 2018, this one-day ESERO Ireland conference supports teachers with inspiring and practical approaches to embracing the Earth and Space strand of the Junior Cycle.

Speakers include Astronomer and Science Communicator Pedro Russo of Leiden University and Rebecca Barnes of European Space Agency’s Education Office.
In addition to the scheduled talks, there will be two sets of four parallel workshop sessions. Workshops include:
- ‘Sharing ideas for learning experiences for engagement with Earth and Space’ with the Junior Cycle for Teachers Science Team,
- “ExoWorlds in Focus” with Blackrock Castle Observatory,
- “Engaging with I-LOFAR” from I-LOFAR at Birr Castle https://birrcastle.com/science/i-lofar/
- “Universe 102” with CIT’s Niall Smith (Universe 102 builds on the hugely popular Universe 101 presented at last year’s conference. A synopsis can be viewed here).
Participants are welcome to attend a reception and open night at CIT Blackrock Castle Observatory on the evening of Friday 11th October, 2019. Pedro Russo will speak at the Open Night, where he will be joined by Chasseurs de Nuits: “An exhibition for the visually impaired… and for others! Constellations at your fingertips”
