We are delighted to announce our next event for the Galway branch of the ISTA. We welcome back Dr. John Toner, a science teacher from Presentation College Headford. John has given a number of presentations for us in the past and they have been highly informative and engaging.

This event will focus on the teaching of space-centric learning outcomes in the Earth and Space strand of Junior Cycle Science. In particular, the speaker will cover practical approaches to teaching about the solar system, the earth, sun and moon system, the origins of the universe and space exploration.
The format will involve a presentation with demonstrations of teaching methodologies that can be employed in the classroom. Some of the resources used will be digital and can be road tested at the event so attendees are encouraged to bring a device (phone or laptop) and plenty of questions!
