Professional Diploma in Teaching Physics

Approved by the Department of Education and Skills, this Award will be delivered by DCU in collaboration with partners in the University of Limerick (UL) and NUI Galway (NUIG).

Mode of Delivery: Blended learning (online and face-to-face)
Commencing: 18th January 2021

Students will complete 10 content-based modules (10×5 ECTS credits each) and participate in online lectures and tutorials as well as face-to-face support tutorials. Students will also complete two experimental-based modules (2 x 5 ECTS credits each) and complete laboratory investigations on six Saturdays during each year. Students will complete 15 ECTS credits of physics pedagogy modules, that will require participation in 2 weeks of summer schools in Year 1, carrying out as inquiry on their own practice throughout Year 2 and culminating in a summer school in Year 2.
