Sr. Mercedes R.I.P.

It is with great sadness that I bring you the news that Sr. Mercedes Desmond has died. She was a pioneer in science education and was instrumental in setting up the Cork Branch of ISTA over 60 years ago. She will be fondly remembered and missed by all who knew her. She was 100 years old. May she R.I.P. Ar dhéis Dé go raibh a h'anam dílis.
