St Patrick’s Festival 2012 – Exploring the Wonders of Science & Free Science Treasure Hunt

Exploring the Wonder and Curiosity of Science is central to this year’s St Patrick’s Festival which runs from 16th-19th March. This is to acknowledge Dublin’s status as European City of Science 2012.

The Dublin parade will animate a selection of science questions posed by children, such as “How is a rainbow formed?”, “What makes the weather change?” and “How is electricity made?”

Then on the Bank Holiday Monday, 19th March, there is a scientifically themed Treasure Hunt organised by Discover Science & Engineering – a free fun trail through some of Dublin city’s landmark buildings and venues, each with its own science-related connection.

There are many other fun events during the festival, from street theatre and funfairs to markets and concerts.
