Unique Cosmonaut Lecture in The Helix

Cosmonaut Mikhail Korniyenko will give a FREE public lecture in The Helix (at DCU), Dublin at 7.30pm on Thursday April 14th to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Yuri Gagarin’s historic flight on April 12th, 1961. Booking essential. All welcome.

The Russian Alliance non-profit organisation, with the support of the Russian Embassy Dublin, the Dublin Institute of Advanced Studies, and DCU have arranged for Cosmonaut Mikhail Korniyenko to visit Dublin in mid-April as part of the celebrations to mark the 50th anniversary of Yuri Gagarin’s historic flight on April 12th, 1961.

Korniyenko will give a FREE public lecture in The Helix (at DCU), Dublin on Thursday April 14th. You can apply for tickets by sending an email stating how many tickets you want AND the names of ALL the people you want the tickets for (names are required for insurance purposes and seating.)

Mikhail Korniyenko spent 6 months on board the International Space Station from April to September 2010 as part of the Expedition 23/24 crew. He also completed a spacewalk during this time.

Applications for tickets WILL ONLY BE TAKEN up to April 5th. After this, you MUST use book directly through DCU at http://www.dcu.ie/president/finalfrontier.shtml.

Doors open on April 14th at 7pm and the programme commences at 7:30pm. Light refreshments and food will be served free beforehand in the Helix itself. More details though will be included on the e-mail returned to you to confirm your tickets are booked.
